Gateway

A gateway to careers for young people.
Gateway is a programme that delivers hands-on practical learning that leads to nationally recognised qualifications for year 11, 12 and 13 students.
Gateway creates new pathways from school to the world of work. It’s a great opportunity to blend school; study with workplace learning and skill development. Units are assessed in the workplace, and then they count towards their NCEA.
Gateway helps develop student employment skills, while they work in real workplaces on real tasks. It gives opportunities to try out potential careers and build links to Industry Training Organisations,Youth Apprenticeships and prospective workplaces.
Employers
Gateway is a great opportunity to get extra part-time help, strengthen your links to Industry Training Organisations, give something back to the community and to train potential employees before you hire them.
If you are interested in giving a Melville student the opportunity to gain experience in your workplace please contact
